Sergi Guardiola: hired and fired in a day

Guardiola signing a contract which was to be cancelled a few hours later

That the social networks are the work of the devil has gone from being just something people say, and has become a reality. Football is an ever-changing world and you never know where you might end up.

And now Sergi Guardiola has seen for himself how the past can do you a bad turn. Two years back, the AD Alcorcón midfielder published tweets supporting Real Madrid in Clásico matches and showing a lack of respect both for Barcelona and the rest of Catalonia.

"I wouldn't have Messi in my team; he spoils the way the team plays", "Up Real Madrid, and the hell with Catalonia" and "Today to hell with Catalonia and up Real Madrid". These are three of the tweets put out by Sergi Guardiola on the social networks at the time.

Earlier today, he left Alcorcón and signed for Barcelona B. And though he wasted no time in erasing his past tweets, the social networks are much quicker than he might have thought. As a consequence of seeing the offensive tweets which he had published some time ago, Football Club Barcelona have subsequently announced the cancellation of Sergi Guardiola's contract.

Guardiola, who had been at Alcorcón, had signed for Barcelona B on Monday, and then some hours later, Barcelona cancelled the deal as a result of the tweets "Up with Madrid and to hell with Catalonia" or "Messi spoils the way the team play", among others.
